“I Think Mahomes Is Gonna Tear His ACL Again” — New Worry Emerges That Patrick Mahomes’ Own Teammate Might Seriously Injure Him With ‘Special Move’
Patrick Mahomes is lining up for Week 1 against the Denver Broncos on Monday. That start comes only nine months after he tore his ACL. The timeline already makes people nervous.
Kansas City needs him on the field after a rare losing season. Nine months is about as fast as this recovery ever goes. Some analysts think he is rushing it.
The bigger alarm now sits on his blindside. Left tackle Josh Simmons missed nine games as a rookie. He is still dealing with a lingering back issue.
Even when Simmons plays, one habit is drawing fire. Former Chiefs tackle Mitchell Schwartz keeps calling it out. Analysts now say it could put Patrick Mahomes in real danger.

“I think Patrick Mahomes is gonna tear his ACL again,” he said.
Co-host Craig Horlbeck asked if the issue was a rushed return. Heifetz agreed and then pointed at Simmons.
“So Josh Simmons, the left tackle, he has this move … where you kind of grab [the defender] by the shoulder pads and throw him down to his left,” Heifetz said. “It’s called the snatch technique.”
Co-host Danny Kelly jumped in fast.
“Gonna throw him into [Mahomes’] legs.”
Heifetz said Schwartz keeps posting the same warning. Simmons should drop that move with Patrick Mahomes coming back. Mahomes figures to live in the pocket more because of reduced mobility.
