He will not say if it’s part of the military or not.

His announcement came in a Truth Social post that described absolutely no legal authority. Trump said an “AI Czar” is coming soon, writing that “Only High I.Q. individuals need apply!”

The White House did not answer questions about how any of it would work.

What Trump DID spell out was its mission…

The government will “not in any way hinder or stifle the Growth of this incredible Industry,” he wrote. “Rather, we will cherish it, help it, and watch over it, as it grows!” Existing criminal and civil courts, he said, are enough to handle anything bad. He also predicted AI could reach 25% of American GDP, a number he attached to no source.

This week Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei published an essay calling on the AI industry to slow down the pace of frontier models, and OpenAI’s Sam Altman and Elon Musk both agreed. Jacob Coxon, who quit Anthropic after three years of AI research there and at OpenAI, said AI companies are “racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives.”

On Monday, phoning Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang onstage at a tech summit, Trump said: “The robots will NOT be taking over.”

In the same Saturday post, Trump called AI data centers “prestigious,” a month after saying towns that reject them “end up being backwards and POOR.”

Three days earlier, the House voted 417-3 to have state regulators “consider” keeping data centers electricity costs off ordinary people’s utility bills.
